Common Areas

There are three floors and many areas outside and within Mountain Valley Home where you can spend time alone, or with that special someone, or with a group. Let's take a tour of those areas now, so you'll be familiar when you arrive...

The Main Level

Grand EntryYou'll be entering the Inn through the main level's grand front entry. But before that first step inside, you will have been met first by our delightful waterfall and koi pond, and second by the inviting covered porch and veranda which wraps around three sides of the Inn. All of this you can enjoy and more fully explore anytime you like during your visit. The cool spring, summer, and autumn breezes that grace the veranda are an irresistable invitation to sit, relax and enjoy our almost endless parade of wildlife and winged visitors. During most of these three seasons, breakfast is served on the veranda as well. (During the winter season, breakfast is served in the main level dining room.)

The Upper Level

Fox 2 with moon-001If you travel up the stairs in the main level, you will discover our surprising Treetop Guest Lounge! (Located near the Mountain View suite.) Here you can enjoy mountian views while our mascot, Scout (a beautiful red fox) watches over you from the highest point of the Inn. Being among the treetops also makes it easy to spy on numerous Rocky Mountain winged species, or look down on and listen to our soothing waterfall. Or if a quiet nook with excellent lighting is what you desire, be sure to pack that book you've been wanting to read!

The Lower Level

Wine RoomLast, but not least, your tour of the Inn's shared areas takes you down the main entry stairs to the walkout level where you'll first encounter our amazing Tuscan Wine Room! Whether you're a wine coneseour, an ocassional embiber, or a tea totaller, you cannot help but admire and enjoy this room. Be sure to visit it, enjoy a free wine tasting if you like, or just spend time soaking up the ambiance...you'll be glad you did! (For more details about the wine room and our tastings, click on the Tuscan Wine Room tab in the menu to the left.)

Guest Great RoomAs you continue through the wine room, you will encounter the Guest Great Room. This large area is for the exclusive use of our guests and includes a gathering room with lots of comfy seating, a cozy fireplace, an intimate dining area, and a well-stocked kitchen. If you smell something yummy it's probably the Chef's daily sweet offering, or the aroma of freshly brewed coffee from the Keurig drink maker. Be sure to visit this area often during your stay, help yourself to the goodies, and spend a little time...or a lot. (Hey, you're on vacation!)

Hot TubAdjacent to the Great Room sits a little bit of heaven...our glass-enclosed hydrotherapy spa. Because we generally host no more than ten guests at a time, you're likely to have the opportunity for private hot tubbing. During the day or under the stars, you're invited to relax in the soothing warm water and feel your tensions disappear! (Be sure to bring your suit!)

No matter what the season, there are many exciting activities for you to enjoy in and around Estes Park. No matter how you choose to spend your Rocky Mountain adventure-filled days, we know you'll enjoy your room as well as the many other relaxing areas of the Inn. Now that you know your way around, please feel free to make yourselves at home. We look forward to hosting your Colorado Rocky Mountain getaway, and making you a big part of our little world!
